CAR GOLF SCHAMBLE, Saturday 11-12-11
25 4 person teams played using their cars as their carts on this almost to good a weather day for car golf. The format was taking the best tee shot then playing your own ball the remainder of the hole. We then take the best 2 scores on the par 4's and 5's and the best 3 scores on the par 3's. Twentythird place and $10 each was won by Traci Griffin, Emily Phillips, Carol Hecht and Cindy. Connie Austin, Patti Grebanski, Tom McClevan and Lynn came in 19th and won $20 each. Fifthteenth place was worth $30 each to Tom Swansons group. In tenth we had the two husband and wife duos composed of the Stolpes and Cowlings. They won $40 each. $50 each went to Ken Smits, Steve Schreck, Rick Brockland and Pete Bliske for finishing 6th. Steve Grusczynski, John Bechard, Tony Duffy and Nelson Still ended up second at 11 under and good for $60 each. First place for the second year in a row with a 13 under par score, was the team composed of Fred Brookes, Dan Conti, Lance Berg and Dan Ulrickson. They won $75 each plus two of the 7 skins and were one of the two winning teams for the added purse. Second in the added purse that was worth $55 in cash per man was the team of Ketih Gagnon, Bill Hagenow, Troy Nichols and A. J.
CAR GOLF SCHAMBLE, 11-13-11
Sunday's event had 15 teams with warmer but windier weather. In 11th place, winning $15 each was the husband and wife twosomes of the Strichko's and Bauer's. Sixth place and $30 each went to Brian Inloes, John Ardellini, Tom Loeser and Brian McKittrick. Second place at 3 under was won by Brian Schreck, Mike Aschberger, Levi Oxford and Mark Krause. This was worth $45 in credit per person. This years winning team at 7 under, winning $60 each, included Mike Landry, Tom Komassa, Jim Maher and Dan Shutts. There were 8 skins with each skin worth $8 per person per skin. The side purse paid off $128 per team with our first place team winning half and the team of Steve Gruszynski, Greg Herker, Nelson Still and Nelson Still Jr also winning $128. Thank you all for playing in our "Weekend Tour" events for the season. Next year's events start with our "Rusty Open Scramble" on Sunday, April 22.
2 PERSON SCRAMBLE 10-29-11
24 two person teams competed on another good weather day. Flights were determined by taking the teams total score on holes 1-4 and 9. The teams that were in "A" flight were 1 under or better for those holes. When all scores were posted we had 3 teams tied for first place at 11 under, so they went back out on hole #1 to determine the winner. Coming in first placeand winning $50 each was Scott Mohr and Mark Krause followed by Steve Grusczynski and Lou Luedtke who won $35 each. Fifth place was won by Keith Gagnon and Bill Hagenau $25 each each and ninth place went to Mike Tomaro and Phil Taft for $15 each.
B flight winners finished at 63. won by 3 shots and collected $50 each. Congrats to Ken Smits and Rick Brockland. Winning $35 for third place was Amy Gehrke and Pete Bliske. Sixth place, $25each went to Gus Ebrat and Andy Contreras. Collected money for 9th place was Gary Holtzen and Tom Hilton.
There were two skins for the day with each one being worth $55 per person in cash. Contrats to Steve Grusczynski and Lou Luedtke for the eagle two on hole 15 and John Bechard and Rick Rutter for having the only birdie on hole 17.
We had 20 teams sign up for a chance to win half of the side purse. The first place finishers in each flight were joined by the teams of Jim Fink and Roger Gugelmeyer, Keith Gagnon and Bill Hagenau who finished in 5th place in their respective flight. The two teams with the closest shot from 100 yards on #9 were Scott Mohr and Mark Krause along with Steve Gruszynski and Lou Luedtke.
TOUGH DAY SCRAMBLE 10-22-11
A perfect weather day was had by all 25 six person teams. The pins were as tough as we could make them but that did not stop the team of Rick Rutter, Pat Boyle, Steve Grusczynski, Neil Grusczynski, Kyle Malinger and John Bechard from finishing 19 under par with only one par and two eagles and winning by 4 shots. They each won $40 in cash and another $40 in credit at Muskego lakes. Second place at 15 under and winning $30 cash and $30 credit each were Jim Sell, Eric Olson, Chris Hewitt, Levi Oxford, Bob Kuster and Lou Luedtke.
There were two team skins that were worth $270 in cash per skin. The winning team had an eagle 3 on hole number 6 and the team of Jim Maher, Randy Kawczynski, Mike Landry, Mike Bowe, Mark Foote and Dan Shutts had the only eagle on #12.
The second side game we call side purse in which the teams that finish 1st, 3rd 8th and 14th go to the 100 yard marker on hole number nine with all players hitting a shot to the pin, The two teams with the closest shots split the purse of $480. The winning team of John Bechard, Rick Rutter, Pat Boyle, Steve Grusczynski, Neil Grusczynski and Kyle Malinger pocketed another $40 in cash per man along with Bill Walters team that included Richard, Dexter and 3 names we did not get. Our next event will be the two person scramble in flights next week. Followed by the ever popular Car Golf Turkey Scramble.
2 PERSON SCRAMBLE IN FLIGHTS 5-29-11
We took the team scores from holes 1-4 and hole 10 to determine the two flights. In the "A" flight we saw scoring that was better than most of our 4 person team scrambles. The winning score included a holed out second shot on hole #15 and a score of 26 on the back nine. Winning by two shots and finishing at 12 under was the team of Steve Krause and Bill Walters. They won $35 per person. Second place in this flight went to John Bechard and Rick Rutter, winning $25 each. Third at 9 under and winning $20 each was Steve Gruscznski and Kyle Mollinger.
"B" flight was closely contested with the winning team at 1 under par and the sixth place team was only 4 shots back. Jon Budzine and Zach Kohn won $35 each for their efforts. Second place at even par were Brian Bedalov and Paul Schissler, winning $25 each. Third place and also at even par was the team of Pete Bliske and Phil Taft, $20 each.
Long PUtt on #2 was made from 30 feet and won by Kyle Mallinger.
Long Putt on #8 was made from 9 feet and won by Jim Sell.
Closest to the pin was only 18 inches away on #17 and won by P. J. Schissler.Our next Weekend Tour event is a Couple Scramble on Sunday, June 26. RUSTY OPEN SCRAMBLE 4-17-2011It was quite windy but the sun was shining and we had 22 teams. Thank you for playing!! Our next event is a 2 person scramble on Sunday, May 29 with a shotgun start at 8am. This event is flighted so no handicap is necessary. Entry fee of $45pp includes: golf, cart and prize fund.
