The Teacher
Mark Krause is a PGA professional and has been teaching for 44 years. He loves teaching and was previously named the PGA junior teacher of the year. Last year, MLCC was honored with the Player Development Award.
Mark makes sure that the golfer’s posture is correct before he tries to teach the golf swing. He believes that a person’s swing is mainly determined by their grip and posture. From there, a basic understanding of the motion followed by learning a few key fundamentals will allow any golfer to hit it far and in the air. Mark spends a lot of time on the chipping and putting motions because he believes that the shorter chip stroke is a microcosim of the full swing. Thus, without good chipping and putting, the player's score will never reach its potential. Pictures are used on a regular basis so the student can see first-hand what they look like compared to what they feel. Feeling comfortable is the biggest obstacle for anybody to learn something new, so pictures will help improve results.

Through April, Mark can give lessons after 4pm any day of the week at Mooreland Golf Center or Gastrau’s Golf Center (on Rawson Ave). At those golf centers, understand the bucket of balls is an additional fee. However, weather permitting, Mark can teach at his home course –Muskego Lakes CC- without the added charge of range balls. Beginning in May, all lessons are at Muskego Lakes with more flexible times available.
